Murrieta Bulldog Baseball

First Tournament for the young Murrieta Bulldog Youth Baseball team.

Manager Art Clark is one of the finest coaches you'll ever meet. I spent time in front of the dugout listening to him encourage and discipline his team with such grace. His surrounding coaches also adhere to his philosophy. Read the following:

More Smith & Nixon Upright Piano, Circa 1899

The Smith & Nixon Piano Company was one of Cincinnati’s premier piano manufacturers during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Smith & Nixon owned and controlled a handful of other makers including Ebersole and Goldsmith Piano Companies. Ebersole and Goldsmith were marketed as affordable alternatives to the costlier Smith & Nixon brand instruments. Smith & Nixon brand pianos were sold as the firm’s top-of-the-line, highest grade instruments. Because of their high prices, they were only built in modest numbers and are a bit rare today. The firm was out of business by 1931 due to the Great Depression (courtesy of http://www.antiquepianoshop.com).

American Flag on Neptune...(ave.)

A little late for Memorial Day so let's say it's a pre-Fourth of July post...

I should know to always have my camera with me when taking a walk but sometimes the timing is wrong. High noon light is harsh but I guess I can still shoot in the shadows?? Yes...

Anyway, enjoy this door and our American Flag. Happy Fourth of July...early!

A Few Moments in the City...

New York, New York via Legoland in Carlsbad CA. Legoland

Legoland

The family spent the day at Legoland on Sunday. This was the first time we had visited this amusement park. I had never wanted to go because, for one, I didn't have kids but even as my little girl got older I still wasn't thrilled to visit. Well, that has all changed since going with friends and now I can't wait to return. The lines for the rides were usually short and maybe 15 minutes at the max. If you have a toddler you know how long even five minutes in line can be. The rides were fun and perfect for the kids. We laughed and were in awe of the Lego built animals and fairy tale characters. AMAZING! So here are a few photos of New York City. I'll be sure to post some Vegas photos later but for now, enjoy!

A big thank you to The Burba Family for letting me spend a few hours with them at Balboa Park in San Diego CA. The day was spectacular with perfect San Diego weather. I discovered a few interesting spots at Balboa Park when scouting the area for pictures. It's amazing what you find when you slow down and simply look around.

Running on Neptune (Ave)

Today was my second day of running after an eight month layoff  otherwise known as 'being lazy'. I was still walking along Neptune, just not running behind my BOB stroller as I had been over the last two and a half years. As I came to a stop and started my cool down back to the house a couple were walking my way. I didn't know their names just their faces as we casually said "Hello" over the years.

Big Bear Lake, January 2011

We recently spent the weekend at Big Bear Lake in a nice cabin on the lake. At the coldest it was 19 degrees and at its warmest 54 degrees. It was beautiful to see the lake frozen over along the shoreline every morning and in some cases lots of snow was still sitting on the ground. Big Bear Lake is amazing during the winter months. Looking forward to staying here again in the summer.

It was a Stone Steps morning

Today was a good day to practice photographing in the TV mode of my Canon. I set the shutter speed to 1/1000 and ISO 100 and let the camera decide the F/stop. Oh, and I also set the focus to AI Servo. This was the first time I have used the TV setting as I usually shoot Manual. I love the sharpness and knowledge that I would get sharper photos with a moving subject. Enjoy.

I wanted to work on my skills with photographing in TV mode with the Canon. I set the shutter speed to 1000 and ISO to 100. I let the camera do the rest with regards to Fstop. This works great for photographing young children since they love to run and are never steady.

My Baby Pictures

Love the typewriter script for my name: Michael Moore

I'm so happy now...It's 2011 and almost 50 years old...well, in 2013 I'll be 50 which is amazing to me. I remember as a child saying "In 1993 I will be 30" and so I was. But 2013 is so different. I'll be 50 and walking my baby girl to 1st grade. WOW!!!  So HOW happy am I right now???

Here's a few photos from my earlier life including some influental women in my life (my Grandma Shirley and my Mom).
